Acoustic basses are fantastic fun. Built to a shorter scale than a regular bass guitar, the Rathbone No.4 Baby-Bass is designed to be super-easy to handle, allowing anyone - no matter young or old, large or small - to pick up and play. The shorter scale also means lower string tension which is easier on the fingers too. The body is an OM variant, but a little deeper than normal ensuring a more natural bass response.
A fabulously fun and rewarding instrument, this little baby-bass from Rathbone is perfect as a travel bass; or when low-volume practise is required; or just as an introduction to the tones of acoustic bass.
Built with slightly deeper 'OM' body shape and to a shorter scale than a regular bass guitar, the R4SME is easy on the fingers and easy for anyone of any size to play. Despite its smaller size however, the bass is articulate with a low mid-range focus, sitting perfectly below acoustic guitars when playing unplugged. However, use the inbuilt pickup and preamp and you can unlock the full potential by amplifying the clean, acoustic-bass tone.
